SOCK PATTERNS IN PROGRESS:

BUTTERMILK REEL
A lacy, all-over sock pattern, with lace that goes just a tick further down the sides of the foot than typical socks, to accomodate the lower-sided summer shoes. Features a picot cuff and top-down construction.
yarn in sample: Louet Gems, in “spruce”
needles: size 1.5 US (used KnitPicks’ metal DPNs, though the pattern is easily convertable to magic loop or two-circ construction, as well.)
estimated release date: end of July.
GOLDEN POPLAR
It only looks complicated, I promise. It’s a charted, slip-stitch design on a bed of reverse stockinette, and it’s remarkably quick, despite the purling involved. (You could probably convert it to regular knit stitches, if you were so inclined, but you’d lose the V-shaped patterning on the foot.) Written directions and charts provided, to accomodate both kinds of knitters.
yarn in sample: Blue Moon Fiber Arts’ Seduction (merino-tencel) in the Red Clover Honey colorway
needles: 1.5 US (also Knitpicks’ DPNs)
estimated release date: End of July, 2009
MAYOR JACK
A unisex pattern with enough give to accomodate wider boyfeet, but also sized for you womenfolk. Patterning has a lacy feel, but doesn’t read OMGLACE, so men won’t scoff as much, either. This pair was knitted for size 9(US) Men’s sizing, and thus, looks a little baggy on my size 9 (US) woman’s foot. Better picture forthcoming. (Sans dog-butt in the shot, too.)
yarn in sample: BMFA’s Socks That Rock in the Knitters Without Borders colorway, mediumweight.
needles: size 2 US. (you can safely assume I’m using the Knitpicks metal DPNs for most of these — they’re my favorite needles for socks, since my knitting tends to be tight.)
estimated release date: Early August, 2009.
